OK, just some promo/info...

http://www.myspace.com/sludgebastards
http://www.mary-bell.nl (not updated in a while, but someday a new page will arise)

discography:

Mary Bell - The Derek Sessions demo (2004)
v/a - Asymmetry compilation CD (ltd. 750, released by Total Rust records/Trust001 in 2005)
Mary Bell/Juro - split CD-r (ltd. #28, released by Redbootkeh/rbh005 in 2006)
Mary Bell - Mary Bell CD (1000 pressed, released by Trabuc records in 2007)

some reviews of our 2007 album:

Behind the assuming moniker, actually that of an infamous child murderous,
lurks an outfit possesed of a formidable fury and truly heinous heaviosity.
This Dutch foursome are purveyors of a weapons-grade sludgeattack that
steers admirably clear of Vinum Sabbathi stoner/doom cliche, indeed one
that has the decencyto sound instead like a genuine wander into the eldritch
realms of cosmic horror and mental illness. Less playfull than Iron Monkey yet
less abstract than Khanate, and with a truly unnerving vocal attack not
altogether unlike the product of some tasty Moss/Buzzov.en hybrid, this
five-track flagellation-fest deftly spices up it's snail's pace dirges with a
palpable violence of delivery. A nicely nihilistic dredge throughuntold sewers
of human wreckage, with a fierce force of intent thankfully far removed from
the slightly dilettante-ish, clod-hopping attempts at sludge/doom fast cluttering
up it's scene. Yet more proof positive that, though there's little here you won't
have heard before, now and again a good crawl across broken glass can be just
the tortuous and terrifying ticket.
(7.5 Jim Martin, Terrorizer magazine 160 Aug 2007)

Named after the infamous British child-murderess, this Dutch sludge squad just
dropped their debut self-titled album on us and man does this crush. I say "just",
as the album was recorded back in 2005 but took close to two years for a label
to finally release it. The molten metal ooze hasn't aged a bit tho - Mary Bell excels
at playing monstrously heavy and slow sludge with the massively detuned guitars
recorded in the red, giving their sinister riffing a blown out, corroded edge, and
the band's two vocalists trade off between sickening mangled screams and
horrific growling utterances, putting this in the realm of bands like Moss, early Floor,
Grief, Toadliquor, Fleshpress, Noothgrush, Khanate and Corrupted. Yeah, it's super
slow, intensely hateful sludge, but I was surprised by a couple of moments of
melody in here, like on "Torture" and "Armageddon Jam", where their tar-hooks
take on a slightly anthemic edge, albeit moving at a slugfuck pace. Those moments
are VERY brief though, as most of this stuff is gloriously hideous. Kind of like hearing
the Floor 7" on Bovine if Edgy from Burning Witch had been handling the vocal duties,
in a way. The crowning achievement in detuned amplifier excess comes with the
closing track "Delirium", which incurs just that with a 24+ minute doomscape of
sparse Khanate-style power chords dropping like cluster bombs over slowly oscillating
waves of feedback and sound effects, lurching forward in sudden starts into nasty
diseased grooves or hypnotic doom plod, and by the end sees the band floating off
on a black sea of filthy amplifier hiss.
(Crucial Blast)

We're very excited about going on a little tour in SPAIN from 30april-5may 2008.
Also, we have enough new tracks for an album, nothing planned for that, but I guess we're recording in near future...

People who want to download our album will find a way anyhow, so well, follow this link: http://sludgeswamp.blogspot.com/2007/11 ... lands.html

i plan a new release for this fall:

MARY BELL / MONARCH! split

we're not sure on what format, monarch asked for a 10"... so let's see whats happening...
i plan do let the recordings get mastered by plotkin...
the artwork will be done by michell ( monarch! )

i'm really happy about this, since i love both bands ! so i'm very honoured that they would like to do this split on vendetta
